Reuther Central High School

LINCS (Leading Individuals to Choose Success)

As part of the expansion to provide additional educational opportunities for students at Reuther Central High School, a new lab, Leading INdividuals to Choose Success (LINCS), was started.  Two full-time teachers operate this lab and provide a flexible schedule for students to attend between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

LINCS is a program based on the belief that all students can learn and can experience success.  The program is tailored to provide individualized instruction based on the needs of each student.  The students work closely with the staff to identify curriculum needs, create a schedule, and set a timeframe within which to complete all necessary assignments in order to graduate.

The goal of the program is threefold:

  1. to assist each student in earning a high school diploma;
  2. to establish with each student the understanding that there is a link between the academic arena and a competitive workforce; and
  3. to provide the most suitable academic environment that promotes achievement, accountability, and excellence.

The student population served in LINCS includes:

  1. those students whose cohort year has already graduated
  2. Reuther students in need of temporary program placement as determined through Reuther administrative approval.
