Reuther Central High School

9th Grade Credit Recovery Program

The 9th Grade Credit Recovery Program is a one year program that targets first time ninth grade students who did not earn enough credits to be promoted into tenth grade. The program has strict academic, behavioral, and attendance requirements. To ensure the success of each student enrolled, there must be total commitment by students and parents.

Earning Credits: Academics

All assignments must be completed in a manner acceptable to the individual instructor in order to receive credit. Students are expected to be active in the learning process. Up to 10 credits can be earned during the school year if the student meets all program requirements.

Earning Credits: Attendance

Minimum attendance for accelerated credit is 90%. Time is calculated separately for each class on a per minute basis. Time may only be made up in the quarter in which they occur. Chronic truancy will result in a truancy petition.

Earning Credits: Classes

Students can earn up to 2 credits in each core subject - English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Students can earn up to 2 more credits in their additional academic classes. These classes include Consumer Education, Sociology, Study Skills, Journalism, and Read 180.

Behavior & Attitude

Students are required to behave in an appropriate manner and within the guidelines of the Credit Recovery Program, Reuther Central High School, and Kenosha Unified School District. If necessary, we will take disciplinary action toward those displaying poor behaviors and/or attitudes.

Conferences

Parent/Teacher conferences are held quarterly. These conferences are crucial for evaluating student progress and monitoring future goals. Parent/Teacher conferences are required. Failure to attend these conferences by parents/guardians may result in the student’s suspension from the program until such time as the parent/guardian meets with the Credit Recovery Program’s teachers.

Applications

Application should be completed during spring and summer for fall enrollment.
