School Age Parent Program
The SAPAR Program is designed to help pregnant students learn about prenatal /postnatal care, child development, and parenting skills. Students also learn how to make decisions that will affect their future and the well-being of their child. Academic credit is earned through a computer-based program in the morning. Courses offered in the afternoon include: Family Living/Child Development, Life Science, and Adaptive Physical Education. Obstetric nurses and community agencies support the program. SAPAR serves students at middle and high school levels.

The SAPAR Program
along with the children in the Reuther Infant Lab
joined with others across the United States to read for the record.
The intent for this day was to have one million children read/hear
Eric Carle's - The Very Hungry Caterpillar book on October 8, 2009.
Here at Reuther we not only read the book with the hungry caterpillar puppet
who ate the food from our little ones but,
we also created our very own beautiful butterfly as well using
the handprints of all who participated in the event.
Here at Reuther we submitted 44 participants who will join in the count for Jumpstart's "Read for the Record" and we look forward to another book for next year.
