CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant)
Prepares students to perform basic supportive skills in caring for patients in various health care settings. This class provides classroom and laboratory instruction and clinical experience in a nursing home. Graduates are awarded a certificate upon passing the state test and are placed on the Wisconsin Nurse Aid Registry. Fulfills a prerequisite for Gateway nursing programs.
Medical Terminology is an in-depth study of the meaning and formation of medical scientific terms. The prefixes, suffixes and roots of medical terms are learned along with prescribed medical readings. Terms for diagnostic tests, procedures and body systems are also learned. High School Intro to Medical Terminology class isrecommended before taking contracted services Medical Terminology.
